Accessibility conformance.
Attested Intelligence builds for high-assurance contexts, including federal procurement, so accessibility is part of the engineering bar. This statement describes the standard we work to, how we test, the current automated result, and the limits of that testing.
Target standard
We work to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the Section 508 refresh, which incorporates WCAG 2.0 AA. New work is built against that bar, and existing surfaces are brought to it as they are revised.
How we test
Two layers.
Automated. An axe-core audit covering the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA rule sets runs against the key page templates at both desktop and mobile viewports. Reveal animations are scrolled into view first, so contrast is measured on the final painted state after the animations finish.
Manual, shipped in the build. The following are present site-wide:
- a skip link to the main content;
- semantic landmark regions (navigation, main, footer) labelled for assistive technology;
- text alternatives on icon-only controls for screen readers;
- visible keyboard focus styles;
- a reduced-motion path that disables entrance animations;
- a fallback that keeps content visible when scripting is disabled.
Current automated result
The most recent axe-core audit reported zero violations at every severity across twelve key templates, at both desktop and mobile viewports: home, technology, trust, verify, about, compare, provenance, standards, evaluate, contact, a solution page, and a research article.
Limits of this statement
Automated tools detect only a portion of the WCAG success criteria, so a clean automated audit is necessary but not sufficient. Full conformance also requires manual review and assistive-technology testing, which is ongoing, and we have not yet commissioned an independent third-party evaluation such as a VPAT. We state this plainly rather than claim a certification we do not hold.
